Monday, June 5 – Summer Reading Kick-off Party
Calhoun County Library’s Summer Reading Program for ages 0-18 launches on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 12:00 pm. Come by the library any time between 12:00 and 5:00 pm to register for summer reading and have a snack!

Tuesday, June 13 – Seed Bombs with Arkansas Game & Fish Commission
Come make a seed bomb for your yard with Ms. Laura Rogers, our local Arkansas Game and Fish Commission education agent!

Friday, June 16 – Build a Bird House
Come build a bird house and a bird feeder for your yard, to make the world a little better for your local birds. All supplies provided.

Wednesday, June 21 – Brighten Up the Library
Help us liven up the sidewalks outside of the library by drawing or writing with sidewalk chalk! Stencils and chalk will be provided.

Friday, June 23 – Build a Better Body
Join Mrs. Laura Trotter to learn about nutritious foods you can eat to help you keep your body strong so you can keep building a better world!

Join Extension Agent Jaret Rushing to learn about different types of trees, how they grow, and what dirt has to do with it.

Bring a friend to the library to play some board games with Ms. Allie! We have a brand new selection of board games including Connect 4, Sorry, Trouble, Monopoly, Jenga, Yahtzee, Scrabble, Uno, chess, checkers, backgammon, playing cards, and more!

Friday, July 7 – CARE for Animals
Come meet a foster dog and hear about what the Calhoun Animal Rescue Effort does, as well as ways to keep your own pets happy and healthy. Then help us make dog toys for foster dogs out of old t-shirts!

Tuesday, July 11 – Plants for People
Decorate a pot and plant a marigold to give to someone you know who could use a little brightness. All supplies provided.

Friday, July 14 – End of Summer Reading Program
The official end of Summer Reading for 2017. Join us to catch up on any crafts or activities you missed, turn in your reading records, and pick up your prize!
Friday, July 21 – Last Day to Turn in Reading Records for Entry into Grand Prize Drawing
Reading records must be completed and submitted prior to July 21, 2017 at 5:00 pm to be eligible for the grand prize drawing for a new Kindle Fire tablet. Don’t forget to bring your records to us to pick up your prize and be entered into the drawing!
Monday, July 24 – Grand Prize Drawing
The drawing for the grand prize (a new Kindle Fire tablet) will occur at approximately 12:00 pm on July 24, 2017. The winner will be notified by phone. Presence is not required to win, but only reading records submitted prior to 5:00 pm on July 21 will be eligible for the drawing.
